I’m so excited to announce my endorsement of Jacqueline Perez for school district 3. It’s no secret that this situation has been difficult for the Lee county school district-the challenge of balancing safety and world class education is not easy. It’s exactly this type of challenge that exposes the true strength of leadership. Unfortunately for the students, parents, and teachers of Lee County, this crisis has exposed that the leadership of the district is weak. We need leaders that will listen to students and parents and who will govern with their opinions in mind. We need leaders that will stand up to the higher levels of government and ask the tough questions. We need leaders who will fight to make sure that teachers are compensated in a way that reflects the essential work they do for the community. Jacqueline’s history of advocacy for children and parents is unprecedented, and I know that she will approach governing on the school board with the same passion. Most importantly, she has shown time and again that she is not afraid to fight in the face of adversity, advocating for our values even against impossible odds. She is precisely what district 3 needs right now.

Please Join me in supporting Jacqueline Perez in her campaign for District 3 seat on the School Board!

Endorsement From Educator Lindsey Moore

Lindsey Moore As a former Lee County teacher, I asked for TALC support and representation as I met with district HR and IA following the 18-19 school year. Thank god I keep diligent notes from every meeting I attend(-ed) with anyone at SDLC bc the TALC president claimed to HR and IA that I never once brought the evidence/documentation I had to his attention. To his shock, I rattled off the exact date, time, and location that I shared this information with him to a conference room full of MEN. (Keep in mind, I specifically requested to have a female present in the room, but was told I could not have anyone else beyond my assigned/designated TALC representative). This instance alone goes to show the incredible measures SDLC will go in order to intimidate and shut teachers and employees up.
I was teaching 2 high stakes math courses (Alg1 & Geom) and despite having over 50% of my students pass the state mandated, graduation requirement test, I didn’t so much as receive a phone call, return call, or interview for open positions I applied to districtwide. I again reached out to the TALC President for his help and my calls were never returned. The retaliation by SDLC didn’t stop with me though. My daughter was withdrawn from the high school she attended without my knowledge days after I met with HR and IA. A letter was “supposedly” sent to my house to notify me of this, but it was sent back and marked as undeliverable...odd bc I never had problems in the past receiving my daughter’s report cards or my tax documentation from the district???!!! So much for violating HB 7029 signed by Rick Scott in 2016.

I took my concerns before the school board requesting whistleblower protection (just as Patricca has done in the past) and to bring attention to the retaliation my daughter and I were both subjected to by Lee County. Ms. Patricca NEVER once addressed my request for whistleblower protections, but I was later advised I did not qualify for such protection. So what’s good for the goose ISN’T good for the gander?
Fast forward, I never received an offer from Lee County for the 19-20 school year and I’m still waiting (almost a year later) for Lee County to respond to DOE’s inquiry about the evidence I submitted to be investigated. I did, however, secure a job teaching in Collier, and of course Lee County had a hand in delaying my start date (they ignored calls and emails for almost 5 days from Collier HR for reference checks requests). Like all teachers, this year had it struggles and challenges, but the difference in the morale and working environment was NIGHT AND DAY from my years in Lee. Until SDLC becomes transparent and TALC starts representing the union paying TEACHERS...they’ll continue to lose hard working educators. Jacqueline, thank you for advocating for me and my daughter!

Once again, I wanted to thank everyone who supported me during my campaign. After speaking with many people, including both my former opponents, I have decided to support Jaqueline Perez. I believe she will be a great watchdog for taxpayer money as she has confirmed her opposition to a tax increase. She is resolved to find savings through implementation of a proximity school plan and close scrutiny of construction expenses. She believes in a curriculum that is free of political bias and promises to represent all students equally, without giving in to the current political correctness run wild. She will work to make the actions of the district more transparent to the community. Last, but certainly not least, she will push policies that will ensure our children are safe and secure while under the districts supervision. For these reasons, I will be voting for Jacqueline Perez on November 3rd.

Recommendation for Jacqueline Perez for Lee County School Board
District 3

I am highly recommending Jacqueline Perez for Lee County School Board
District 3 seat

It is my pleasure to write this letter on behalf of an outstanding woman, Mrs. Jacqueline Perez. I have known “Jackie” for the past ten years. I was serving as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and Outreach at a large Parish in Ft Myers, when she introduced herself to me. I also had the pleasure of meeting and truly getting to know and love her and her whole loving family.

Jacqueline saw the needs that we faced and quickly got on board and offered her services. She volunteered and served as “Coordinator of Hospitality and Outreach” from 2010-2014. She supervised a Core team of 12 adults who were responsible for serving weekly dinners to approximately 125-150 youth in grades 6-12th also including college students. Her volunteer duties included training adults, planning menus, food purchasing, preparing, cooking, serving and cleaning up.

Jacqueline Perez served with enthusiasm, integrity, humility and a true servants heart.
She understood the need for collaboration among the many age groups, backgrounds, and personalities represented. She is not a Lone Ranger but a team player, who makes the effort to “grasp” the vision of where we were heading and  would work toward that goal.

As a large parish we participated in several outreach opportunities to the local community each year. Jacqueline was the first to sign up and serve in any capacity needed. Whether it was helping organize food and blanket drives for the local homeless, collecting food for our food pantry several times a year, preparing and distributing meals and gifts to families in need on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and so much more. Jacqueline Perez was the epitome of an adult going the extra mile when it came to serving the Young Church of today and whomever and wherever she saw a need. Also, her generosity exceeded my expectations.

Jacqueline has a deep authentic faith and has shown herself as a righteous woman with integrity and strong moral character. I’ve witnessed and experienced her welcoming nature (and great sense of humor) that also draws others to welcome and enjoy her presence. She serves with a humble heart, not wanting the limelight but rather giving the glory and praise to others. As you can see, she made my job so much better!

I am humbled and honored to have worked and ministered alongside Jacqueline Perez.
The world is a better place because of her. Lee County families, communities, schools, and the School Board would be blessed to have her on board.

Sincerely,
Maureen Sullivan

Almost thirty years ago I had the pleasure of working with the young vibrant Jacqueline Perez, then a Physical Therapist’s Assistant. We practiced Physical Therapy together in a hospital based clinical setting, and later in Homehealth Care. Jacqueline clearly exhibited intelligence and dedication in her profession, which were reflected in the outcomes of the patients whom she served. She coupled her knowledge and energy with a truly generous spirit that respected and engaged each whole, unique person. She excelled in listening and in problem solving skills, gaining the trust and cooperation of each client. These were necessary attributes to promote progress and healing. These same qualities will make her an engaged, effective Lee County School Board member in District 3. Jacqueline has an innate sense for high standards of accountability and moral prioritization. Therefore I recommend her for the seat she is seeking, confident that she is a true public servant who has the best interests of those she will serve at heart.

Sincerely,

Janet Eidem MSPT
